About

About MHDSR and its instructor.

MHDSR

What. MHDSR (Methods in Health Data Science with R) is a live, cohort-based training pathway in applied biostatistics, machine learning, survival analysis, and evidence synthesis, taught in R with reproducible Quarto workflows. It comprises four courses, BIOSTATR, ML4HOR, SURV4CR, and METAR, that can be taken independently or followed as a complete pathway.

Each course can be taken independently (no prerequisite is mandatory), but the order above is recommended for participants building comprehensive mastery.

Why

Health researchers are often taught statistics and R as separate subjects, disconnected from the reproducible workflows expected in publication and clinical practice. MHDSR closes that gap: every course pairs the underlying methodology with a hands-on R implementation and ends with a reproducible Quarto report.

Who it’s for

Clinicians, researchers, PhD students, public health professionals, and analysts who want a rigorous, hands-on introduction to modern health data analysis in R. No advanced statistics background is required for BIOSTATR; the other three courses build on it but can be taken independently.

What you get

Live sessions, slides, notebooks, datasets, and exercises for every session, with direct feedback in a small cohort, ending in a short reproducible Quarto mini-project.
